Danish solutions company Danfoss has launched its Aeroquipd GH493 four-wire spiral hose in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The hydraulic hose is designed for flexibility, lifetime, and working pressure, meeting or surpassing industry standards EN856 Type R12, EN856 Type 4SP, SAE 100R12, and ISO 18752.

Salih Karayagiz, product manager, rubber hydraulic hose and fittings, Danfoss Power Solutions said: “It’s rare to find a hose with outstanding flexibility plus higher pressure performance and long lifetime. This combination makes our Aeroquip by Danfoss GH493 hose a versatile solution that maximizes uptime and minimizes maintenance in a wide range of high-pressure machinery.”

The GH493 can be used in tight spaces due to its tighter minimum bend radius, with more design freedom and easier installation. The cost and weight of the machine can be reduced as hose lengths can be shortened. The hose’s minimum bend radius is, on average, 58% tighter than EN856 Type 4SP and 50% tighter than EN856 Type R12 standards.

Machine uptime is maximised along with reduced maintenance and hose replacements due to the GH493’s long in-application lifetime. SAE 100R12, EN856 Type 4SP, and EN856 Type R12 requirements are met and exceeded, as tests of up to 1 million impulse cycles on hose sizes -6 to -16 and 500,000 impulse cycles -20 to -32, exceeding requirements.

Karayagiz added: “GH493 is our most popular four-wire spiral hose in the Americas, proven over the years in a wide range of applications. Its introduction in EMEA opens new application possibilities while helping our customers drive inventory standardization.”

The power-dense machine delivers better average pressure performance by using a broad range of hydraulic systems. SAE 100R12 by 30%, EN856 Type 4SP by 19% (sizes -10 to -32), and EN856 Type R12 standards are exceeded by the hose on average by 32%, and ISO 18752 constant pressure standards are met.

Danfoss Dura-Tuff cover, giving up to eight times more abrasion resistance than standard synthetic hose covers, according to Danfoss, gives the GH493 increased durability. Hose failure chances are reduced whilst also extending hose lifetime.

Danfoss 4S series spiral fittings are compatible with the GH493 hose. This features Dura-Seal technology for better sealing and leak-free operations. Customisation is possible with multi-bent fittings. All sizes of hose fittings are suitable for temperatures ranging from -40°C to 126°C and can provide working pressure ranges from 275 to 448 bar, size dependent.
